Welcome to Almost Home Pet Resort, Inc.

Almost Home, nestled in the quiet countryside of South Covington, opened in 1995.  We expanded our accommodations in 2002 for the purpose of providing quality boarding, grooming and training for dogs and cats.  Almost Home's mission is to provide quality care in a friendly, clean, stress free, safe environment where pets will feel like they are ALMOST HOME!

Our facility is heated and air conditioned and has a security system that monitors 24 hours a day.  The owners live on the premises and have obtained their expertise from showing, breeding and training their own dogs for over 35 years.

About The Owners:

My name is Pat Keene. My sister, Jenny, and I have owned and operated Almost Home Pet Resort since we built it in July 1995. Prior to opening the pet resort, we had “normal jobs” in banking, a small service company and a financial investment company.

Our passion for animals started at a young age with chickens and grew to include ducks, geese, goats, cats, cows, and horses. All this time, dogs were an important part of our animal family. We became interested in showing dogs, which lead to the purchase of our first Doberman. Over the past 35 plus years we have bred and shown Dobermans to AKC Championships and AKC Obedience Titles. Besides Dobermans, rescue Chihuahuas also shared the couch in our family room.

When asking the question, “what do you want to do with the rest of your life?” The answer is “do what you know and love”. DOGS AND CATS!

Whether a facility is called a pet resort, doggy hotel or kennel, it is just a building with dog and cat enclosures. It’s the people who own and manage the facility that makes it a safe and caring place for your four legged family members.
